Student Enrichment
Whole school activities: The Head of Student Support Services and Activity Coordinator in collaboration with our Office Manager organize a number of whole school activities each year to add richness to our students’ school experience. These include events to celebrate different heritages, Prom, Family Movie Night, Game Night, Talent Show, and Our Thanksgiving Feast among others. These activities help foster a sense of belonging and community and are fun!!
Student Leadership: Students may choose to join the Student leadership elective to support activities to promote a positive school climate. They have developed our mentorship program in which high school students serve as a buddy for a middle school student. They also participate in the planning of whole school activities such as our annual Halloween Celebration, our Thanksgiving Feast, our Valentine's Day party, and Spirit Week.
Electives: TPA has engaged in quite a bit of fundraising to expand our elective offerings to our students. Please see photos featuring our 3D sculpture class, or 3D printing class, our music class, our cooking class as some examples.

Field Trips: The Phillips Academy offers a number of field trips throughout the school year to science museums, cultural museums, parks and recreational activities, etc. Community members have often commented on how well-behaved and engaged our students are on these outings!
Special Programs Week: Every spring, we engage in Special Programs Week. The purpose of Special Programs Week is to provide students with a more creative, hands on, independent living or real world learning experience. Students choose two classes to attend in the morning in place of the regular schedule. (The afternoon schedule remains the same). Some offerings have been Recycled Runway, Kite-Making, A Day in the Life, Outdoor Education, Watercolors, Film Appreciation, Robot Sculpture, Cooking and Culture, Transportation Exploration, and many others.
